Paris, October 5, 2020 – UGGC Avocats, a leading business law firm, assisted the French leader in medical devices, Innothera, in its acquisition on September 30, of the Gibaud company from the Icelandic group Össur, one of the world leaders in orthopaedics.
Created in 1913, the Innothera Group is a century-old, family-owned and independent French healthcare mid-cap company. Led since 1986 by Arnaud Gobet, grandson of the founder, the group has achieved strategic diversification through sustained internal, external and international growth. The Innothera Group develops, produces, and promotes drugs and medical devices organized into five therapeutic areas: venous disease, gynecology, nutritional deficiencies, infectious diseases and hospital hygiene.
The Gibaud company, a pioneer in orthopaedics and podiatry for 130 years, develops and distributes orthopaedic care solutions complementary to medicines, intended for healthcare professionals: pharmacies, orthopaedic surgeons and hospitals.
This acquisition is in line with Innothera’s ambition to strengthen the group’s national and international presence in the medical device market and thus reach a turnover of 150 million euros by 2025.
