RFI – ” Law firms are becoming a must-have for doing business in Africa “, interviews with Ali Bougrine and Danielle Moukouri

Ali Bougrine (Managing Partner of UGGC Africa) and Danielle Moukouri (Managing Partner of the Douala office) were interviewed on Friday 24 December 2021 by Mr. Olivier Rogez, journalist at RFI, on the expansion of business law firms in Africa.

African leaders have become aware of the added value that legal advice in business law can bring them. […] We can indeed advise a start-up in the context of raising funds (…), a large SME or a medium-sized company on its expansion projects and daily needs (…) [and] either international investors of large multinationals on their African operations, either the African subsidiaries of these large groups” says Ali Bougrine.

As to Danielle Moukouri, who specialises in the technology and intellectual property sector, the legal assistance is but one aspect of the value brought to the client: “I would say that experience can bring a lot to the start-up business. Why? Because in addition to the legal support, it is the possibility of being introduced to investors that a young entrepreneur would never have met on his own” she adds.
